When I was in school, a boy in my class told me that he was abused by a priest. He went home and that evening told his father what had happened. His father beat him and said, “don’t you ever speak about a priest that way”. He further said that perhaps somebody would forgive the priest, but he would never forgive his father.

God bless Mr. Garabedian! My family was touched by abuse in the 1960’s. The ripple effect has extended through our family for years. The Catholic Church should be ashamed!

This is a great message. The reporting and follow up was such a trek. I was raised in the Catholic Church and was given the sacrament of confirmation by Bernard Law at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Mississippi. I often wonder about the boys in my class and if they suffered abuse.
